Ever been to a fancy restaurant and paid a lot of money for a cheese platter? I have. The thing about these platters is they can be very easy to do at home. Next time someone asks you to bring something to their dinner party, wow them with an amazing spread. The items you can put on your plate are endless.
The Must Haves
I ALWAYS like to have at least 3 great cheeses from different families.
I alsways like to make crostini. Having a crispy toast to eat you cheese with will work out a lot better than slices of raw bread.
How To Start
Make sure you make your crostini our of really good bread. I recommend a baguette so you can cut even round slices. Unfortunately, this time around my boyfriend bought a french loaf instead of a baguette. This is still fine... just less consistent. It was only us eating anyways :)
Make sure you cut the bread into even pieces. Drizzle then with Olive Oil, and add salt and pepper. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 7 minutes. Once done, arrange on a platter.
For this particular cheese plate, I made roasted Garlic. For those of you who do not know how to make it, it is simple...
Roasted Garlic
1 Clove of Garlic, Olive oil, salt and pepper.
Cut the clove horizonantally so you slice each clove in half. Put the 2 halves face up. Coat with olive oil, salt and pepper. Place in tin foil and bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes. The garlic should squeeze out of each clove skin and be a brown color.

Arranging the Platter
Grab a large platter so that 10-12 items fit on it. Everything you put on the platter should compliment each other, but there is an unlimited amount of food items you can include. I always like to start with 2-3 good spreads. This time I chose Sundried Tomato Garlic Dipping Oil, Grainy Mustard, and Apple Fig Jam.
Next, lay out your cheeses. I chose a Brie, Smoked Mozarella, and a Cheddar cheese. Lastly, include your edible compliments. This can be salami, patte, meats, etc. For this one, I chose slivers of sundried tomato, cornichon pickles, and homemade roasted garlic. Arrange platter next to the crostini and you are done.
Platter all arranged
Enjoy!
